LIGHTING CANOPY
Private commission in collaboration with Stuart Jenkins
Composed of birch ply, aluminium and muslin canvas, the lighting canopy is a snapshot of three wings in flight. The suspended elm, teak and mahogany pendant lights add weight and gravity to a cloud of light, puncturing through the wings. With light permeating through the muslin canvas, the wings remain in flight, rising with the air, above the heat, energy and chatter below. The aircraft inspired piece hangs as the central feature of a place of gathering, dining and socialising.
